So Tuesday was a bundle of mixed news. On the one hand, Journal and Law Review invites went out. I got an invite to every single legal publication, all of whom have different criteria. I think I'm most pleased with the Journal that bases acceptance 100% on writing ability and no grades. It's nice to know my writing can get the job done without any help from my happy GPA.
Of course I chose to accept the invitation from Law Review--is there really any other response?
Of course after a day of pure joy I arrived home to find my lovely parchment paper rejection letter from GW. It's the second in my GW rejection letter collection. So that's one transfer institution down. I suppose because I never expected to get in, it wasn't a shock so not nearly as disappointing as the first time I got rejected back in 2008. C'est la vie.
On a happier note, a mere two days later my law school partner in crime got accepted at GW, which I, of course, expected. I will miss my friend who is so like me and struggle to replace her out of the fodder at my current school, but I couldn't dream of advising her to do anything but run to GW as fast as she can.
She's in a dilemma over giving up her generous scholarship at our school, but I think that money will be made back over the first 5 years of employment given the discrepancy between our school's average salary and GW's.
So a little good news and bad news for me...a little stellar news for my friend. What else will this week bring?
